We at STC are committed to minimising our environmental impact realising that our industry requires a particularly sensitive approach. The following represent just some of the measures we commit to in each and every job we undertake
Desk top, pre-work and daily checks are carried out for bats, badgers, dormice, nesting birds and other likely protected species.
Conservation areas, Tree Preservation Orders (TPO) and SSSI's are checked for and work methodologies amended and/or local authorities and regulatory bodies consulted as appropriate, in conjunction with Client.
Stoughton Tree Care staff are briefed by trained ecologists to recognise signs of protected species whilst undertaking works and are required to immediately take appropriate action.
On site "Toolbox talks" assist in practically informing our staff of environmental matters, emphasise the importance of good practice and further the knowledge of our staff.
Safe and effective use of appropriate herbicides is essential to maintenance of lineside vegetation. Stoughton Tree Care use a BASIS registered Advisor for storage and correct use of herbicides.
Tree removal can be an emotive issue and requires sensitive public relations. Direct contact and communication by our staff with the public is unavoidable and Stoughton staff are fully and carefully briefed. In conjunction with Network Rail, Stoughton are experienced in the necessity of works notification letters and consultation where appropriate prior to sensitive works.
Good neighbours - timing of work, parking, noise and the general disruption to railway lineside neighbours are all issues we carefully consider, recognising the fine balance between safety and Client reputation.
