EMERGENCY STORM WORK (Sussex route – SE route)

Project description

Stoughton Tree Care Ltd provided direct emergency tree clearance response teams to the Sussex Route over the stormy winter of 2013-14 and also of 2014-15.

We provided numerous stand-alone, fully competent and experienced climbing teams on the Network Rail route proving MPV and "ghost" trains during and following the severe storms. This allowed routes to be promptly cleared of fallen trees and permitted routes to open safely to passenger train traffic.
Teams were able to attend tree failure incidents out of hours throughout the winter within an hour on the Brighton Main line and within 2hrs elsewhere.
Teams were on-call from October to end of March continually with teams available to work at any time during these months.
Call outs involved the safe remova lof  fallen and wind-blown trees and vegetation from the tracks and also removing dangerous and hazardous trees from the line-side.
